In Treatment For Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Hello, my name is Sheri. I was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer METEXON skipping 14 on November 17 last year 2025. I am doing very well and thankful I had to lesions on my brain, which were small and 3 1/2 inch tumor in my lungs. However, I have been doing Trabecta and I feel very lucky to say that I have had two MRIs and the lesions in my brain and the tumor in my lungs have turned into granules. So so far so good. I saw this app on TV and would like to learn more on handling the symptoms of this drug such as edema, etc. etc. it’s very nice to meet you all and happy to be part of this community.

How am I managing vinorelbine side effects after 2.5 years?

Im 2.5 years into treatment Taking vinorelbine every other week. Not too bad, typical side effects. Ill have to look back on records see the other meds they've given. At Lahey Clinic Boston MA

How soon after immunotherapy treatment do side effects start?

I just had my first treatment yesterday of Opdivi/Yervoy/Alimta/Carbo. Took about 4 1/2 hours when I left infusion center I slept most of the afternoon but no side effects 1 day 2nd day dry mouth They gave me compazine for nausea I didn’t know that it would completely knock me out for hours. But so far only had slight diarrhea. And I feel tired today

After a full six weeks of radiation and two chemotherapy sessions, the doctor want to shift me to afatinib to treat my NSC lung cancer which was in stage 3. Have others used this targeted drug? What was the reaction / results?

How can I naturally boost my ANC during chemo and radiation?

I was diagnosed in July with Stage IIIB non-small cell lung cancer and started treatment at the end of August. I’m currently undergoing thoracic radiation along with chemotherapy. My most recent ANC was 1.47, which was just low enough that my chemotherapy had to be delayed. Because I’m receiving thoracic radiation, my treatment team has told me that white blood cell growth-factor treatment is not an option for me right now. Has anyone here found anything that helped their ANC recover during treatment — whether through nutrition, hydration, activity, rest, or anything else? I already eat a healthy, balanced diet and try to exercise about three times a week. I understand there may not be a reliable “natural” way to raise neutrophils quickly, but I’d be very interested in hearing what others experienced and whether anything seemed to help between treatments. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

Should I worry about taking a recalled chemo medication?

O.k. I'm in treatment for NSCLC Stage 4. Yesterday I found out one of my chemo meds was recalled. I had been taking it for a few months. My oncologist has changed my meds 2x since then, but he hasn't said anything about the recall. I found out by my insurance sending me a notification in the mail. Should I be concerned?

How do I move forward after EGFR+ NSCLC progression?

Just learned that after 20+ months of stability on pemetrexed and amivantamab, the [I refuse to say my] EGFR+ NSCLC has progressed. I read that it is inevitable that this cancer will develop resistance. Will meet with oncologist next week. Tumor burden is still pretty low although first disease outside of thorax documented. I'm OK, but not great. And blessed/glad this is now and not 10 years ago when treatment options were many fewer. But, damn anyway.

Why did Emrelis cause severe side effects after my first dose?

Received my first treatment of Emrelis and four days later I was in the ER and then hospitalized for 5 days. My pressure dropped, my heart rate elevated, nausea and vomiting and diarrhea. My potassium level went very low too. It turns out it was a toxic reaction that could have been mitigated had I been pre-treated. I’m getting stronger and the doctor has scheduled a treatment with anti nausea medication and stomach medicine;a lower dosage adjusted for the 10 lbs I lost; and fluids afterwards so I don’t dehydrate. Nervous but treatment is important if it stops progression.
