Why did Emrelis cause severe side effects after my first dose?

Received my first treatment of Emrelis and four days later I was in the ER and then hospitalized for 5 days. My pressure dropped, my heart rate elevated, nausea and vomiting and diarrhea. My potassium level went very low too. It turns out it was a toxic reaction that could have been mitigated had I been pre-treated. I’m getting stronger and the doctor has scheduled a treatment with anti nausea medication and stomach medicine;a lower dosage adjusted for the 10 lbs I lost; and fluids afterwards so I don’t dehydrate. Nervous but treatment is important if it stops progression.

Is itching and rash normal on Tagrisso?

Day 5 of Tagrisso was miserable. Nausea and stomach pain all day, but able to eat and drink in spite of it. Now I am itchy all over and see lots of red bumps popping up, I do not know if I will want to keep taking this drug that 2 oncologists told me had minimal and manageable side effects.

Has anyone tried Emrelis for stage 4 cancer? Side effects?

After diagnosis of Stage 4 in Nov 2024, I was treated with Pemetrexed and Carboplatin then put on KEYTRUDA. In May my PET/CT showed the cancer progressed to my left lung. Another biopsy revealed a MET biomarker (70%). After gaining approval for Emrelis, I started treatment last week. Has anyone else been treated with this drug? What has been your experience? Main side effects are neuropathy and vision problems; did you experience these and when did they start? Any insight helps.

What should I expect from taking Tagrisso for cancer treatment?

I had a meeting with my medical oncologist today and he recommended Tagrisso. Can anyone with experience with this drug tell me about this drug?

Is immunotherapy working after stopping chemo for cancer?

Chemo has been stopped for now, only doing immunotherapy for a year. Still have to get a chest xray next month. Praying everything stays the same. All labs are good.

Stage 4 lung cancer NED after Keytruda and radiation - how long?

Diagnosed with stage IV NSCLC September 2024. Widespread metastasis in both lungs, adrenal gland, lymph nodes, etc.. Brain clear. Biopsy and Tempus analysis showed PD L-1 of 90+. 21 infusions of Keytruda followed through December 2025. All metastasis gone after 12 infusions. Origin tumor significantly smaller but not gone. 9 more infusions produced modest shrinkage but still there and side effects beginning to be troublesome. 15 radiation treatments over three weeks then followed. Now, three+ months after the last radiation the CAT/PET scans result in my oncologists telling me “you no longer have anything for us to treat…come back in three months and we will scan you again.” Currently symptom-free and working-out to rebuild some of the muscle I’ve lost due to inactivity. Hoping my incredible luck continues!

How do you cope with blood clots during cancer treatment?

RIght now I am hospitalized with pulmonary emboli. I have completed my 7 chemotherapy infusions. I showed up today for my 27th radiation but was weak, pale and tachycardic. Evaluated immediately and sent to ER. So I am happy for the prompt lifesaving care. I have heparin infusing. Unable to sleep. Listening to classical music on Alexa. A nice feature in my hospital room.

How do you cope when lung cancer spreads to your brain?

I was diagnosed in February 6, 2023 with NSCLC in my left lung. I learned on May 6, 2026 that the cancer has metastasized to my brain. I had two lesions treated with cyber knife radiation on May 13. The first time I was told I had cancer, I gasped out loud. This second time, I couldn’t make a sound. Just warm tears. Please stay on top of your symptoms. Question everything. I’m not sure where this is going but I do know it is in God’s hands and He’s got me.
