17 days agoAfter a full six weeks of radiation and two chemotherapy sessions, the doctor want to shift me to afatinib to treat my NSC lung cancer which was in stage 3. Have others used this targeted drug? What was the reaction / results?

17 days agoAfter my 7 weeks of chemoradiation I am cancer free. I was placed on the targetted drug Tagrisso as a preventative but that in combination with damage from the radiation has led to pneumonitis. I was advised to be hospitalized, but elected to stay home with monitoring of my O2 saturation, supplement O2 , oral steroids, cough medication and rest. Any activity at all causes shortness of breath and a racing heart. But currently I can eat and breathe and talk and breathe while at rest. This is a huge improvement.
