a month agoI was diagnosed on March 2, 2026 of stage 3C ovarian cancer. I have done three treatments of Taxol I do a scan on Tuesday, June 1 to see where everything is at only thing I have is the constipation. My bowels will not move. I have to take lennzess to make them move. Does anyone else have this problem?

a month agoThis sounds like a really challenging side effect to manage during your treatment. Constipation is indeed a common issue that many patients experience with chemotherapy, including Taxol, so you're definitely not alone in dealing with this. It's great that you've found something that helps and that you have a scan coming up to check your progress. Other community members who have been through similar treatments may have helpful tips or experiences to share about managing this particular side effect.

17 days agoHello Yvette. I have had 3 rounds of chemo since May 2121 for high serous ovation cancer 3C. I am about to start a 4th one this week. So my experience has been that you will certainly have times when your bowels won’t move. It can be very frustrating. I finally settled on a regimen that I use whether or not I’m on chemo. I take Colace (stool softeners) 3 times a day and 2 Sennakot at night. I finally settled on this after much experimentation with other things. If I still have a problem I take Miralax. That usually does it. There is one other thing you can try lactulose (need a prescription) - I think I’ve used it twice and it is very effective, but I think it’s in the realm of last resort. If you take it, you might want to plan to stay home that day. This is one of the most frustrating side effects of chemo, but if you keep experimenting I think you will find a routine that keeps you going steadily. I wish you the best, Rosemary

10 days agoThanks for all the comments. So I had my scan after my 3 round of chemo. They say everything is looking okay but want me to do 4 more rounds of chemo. The added 2 more drugs to it can’t remember the name. But advanstin. Something like carb but it made me some weak. The whole week. I’m gonna keep praying and fighting this.

6 days agoDear Yvette. This is a very difficult time to go through, and I’m sorry that you have to endure this. I have been through 3 courses of chemo, all of which included Carboplatin ( a standard drug used for ovarian cancer). My suggestion is to try to think of it as your friend because despite the side effects, it can save your life. And, remember, there will be an end to this round of chemo and the side effects will go away. I have always felt that I could take anything as long as there was an end in sight. I wish you the very best. Rosemary
