Radiation treatment can bring up many questions and concerns, especially when starting this phase of your cancer journey. Many community members have shared that side effects often build gradually over the weeks, with fatigue and skin changes being common experiences that your medical team will monitor closely. Fellow patients in this community have valuable insights about managing daily routines during treatment - their experiences and practical tips could be really helpful as you begin this next step.

I did 39 of 39 in UTMB Galveston; 5 days a week for eight weeks. I personally didn’t have many issues. Didn’t have to change my lifestyle much. Dr’s did say I took the radiation well. Didn’t work for me, because the cancer had already become metastasized all over in significant amounts. MY ADVICE! Get an expensive PET test before. A PET shows where the cancer has spread to. A prostate radiation kill treatment only does the Prostate, nothing else. My insurance required me to either have surgery or radiation treatment before they would pay for the PET test. If I had the PET test first, I wouldn’t have had to do the unsuccessful prostate removal surgery or the radiation; which successful killed my prostate cancer, but it had already major spread. I’m now on the Leuprolide, Abiraterone, Prednisone treatment that is successfully extending my Life. Best of luck on this journey. Positive attitude helps me the most!
