6 days agoHi, my husband has kidney cancer and it has spread to his lungs and liver. Since three monts he is on treatment with Axitinib and Keytruda. He has a lot of side-effects wich made him completely waisted. He has no energy, has a sore mouth and tongue and therefore difficulties eating and is very, very tired. Is here someone with the same things? We are thinking about to stop the Axitinib for a while so that his body can take a rest. We live in the Netherlands.

5 days agoManaging severe side effects from Axitinib and Keytruda during kidney cancer treatment can feel overwhelming for both patients and caregivers, and reaching out here shows how much care is going into this journey. Changes to a treatment plan are best decided with the oncology team, so it may help to share how much the fatigue, mouth soreness, and trouble eating are affecting daily life, since care teams can often suggest supportive options and next steps. Others in this community who have been on similar treatments are welcome to share what has helped them cope with side effects and talk with their care teams.

7 hours agoI had kidney cancer and they removed my kidney. The cancer spread to my liver so I had four rounds of Keytruda and Padsev. The cancer shrunk about 90% and then I had an ablation on the remaining section. Technically I’m in remission. The side effects were horrible, but after the infusions stopped things began to slowly improve. My hair has grown back, diarrhea stopped, dry eyes eased up, but the neuropathy is still difficult. Good wishes that things improve for you soon.
