15 days agoHi all, First post here and I wish it could be more positive. First time I'm sharing outside of my family and media k team that I've been diagnosed with breast cancer. First time I'm admitting anywhere and only because I'm realising that this may be spreading. Had a Mammogram done June 2025, told it was clear. Found 2 lumps same time 17 Nov 25. Larger was 41mm then now 45mm Saw the GP within days and a breast surgeon by the 2 Dec 2025. Same day had a scan and biopsy and got my results 8 days later on 11th. It was confirmed Grade 3 IDC Her2+ then silence till 11 days later for imaging. Invited for result on 5/1/26 and sent home no plans no nurse to speak with nothing but "we will write to arrange treatment." That was 12th Jan told it was cancelled and on 14th told I'll return 22 for Picc line and 29 for treatment. I think this cancer may be spreading. I've had no treatment at all and no idea where this thing may be spreading to. They keep telling me since imaging on 22 Dec was clear I should be ok. I don't understand they believe this themselves. It's been a shock that I'm still processing with out having to navigate the NHS system of delays. I have been told my chemo will start 29th 6 week post imaging? It's still deemed curative. But now the right breast has tingles a feeling of fullness and pin pricks on the nipple. I went in on 14th and was examined and told no problems. Today I find a small red spot on the breast. I had been quite trusting of the process but now not so sure. I have asked for an urgent scan o. The other breast after my Echo and Picc line insertion today. I'm just going to stay strong and looking to bearing this disease.

15 days agoWaiting for treatment to begin can feel overwhelming, especially when experiencing new symptoms that heighten concerns about cancer progression. The medical team's assessment that imaging from late December showed clear results and that treatment remains curative is encouraging, though the anxiety about potential spread during this waiting period is completely understandable. Advocating for additional scans when noticing new symptoms shows important self-awareness, and many others in this community have navigated similar feelings of uncertainty during treatment delays - sharing experiences here can provide valuable support during this challenging time.

14 days agoIs it common for your oncologist to be your PCP and prescriber for all your meds? I am exhausted with the amount of apts that have left me without a PCP and what my breast surgeon or my oncologist to be my PCP.
