3 years agoThis does not surprise me at all and breaks my heart. We don’t talk about the financial burden of cancer enough. 20% don’t get abnormal findings checked out if there is a copay. We need to do better! https://ascopost.com/news/april-2023/deductible-copay-may-discourage-patients-from-receiving-follow-up-breast-cancer-screenings/

The financial barriers to cancer care are a real and widespread challenge that affects far too many patients. When cost becomes a factor in healthcare decisions, it creates an unfair burden during an already difficult time. This issue deserves more attention from healthcare systems and policymakers to ensure that necessary follow-up care remains accessible to everyone who needs it, regardless of their financial situation.
