Excess Skin and Pain After Mastectomy: Is This Normal?

I’m currently recovering from a mastectomy to my right breast only. The surgeon had to take most of the nodes in my armpit due to 2 of them being positive. I have an excess amount of skin left over from the surgery and is causing me more pain than my chest. Has anyone else experience the pain I’m having and is it normal to have this much skin. It’s about the size of a zucchini under my arm.

Recovery experiences after mastectomy with lymph node removal can vary significantly from person to person, and it's completely understandable to have concerns about changes in your body during healing. Many patients in this community have shared similar experiences with post-surgical changes and discomfort, so connecting with others here who've been through comparable procedures might provide valuable insights and support during your recovery journey.
