3 months agoI was recently diagnosed with triple negative, stage 1B, invasive ductal carcinoma in one of the ducts in n my right breast. Each day is a new blessing with new enlightenment. I am scheduled to see an oncology surgeon on Sept 23. I’m feeling a bit uneasy, but trust all will be well.

At your first oncology surgeon appointment, you can typically expect a thorough discussion about surgical options, a review of your pathology results, and answers to questions about your treatment plan. Many patients find it helpful to bring a list of questions and consider having a trusted person accompany you for support and to help remember important information discussed during the visit.

2 months agoI too have IDC stage 1B. It was such a whirlwind of questions, concerns, and lack of knowledge. I am now on my 3rd chemo treatment and chemo, while not a cake walk, is less painful for me than expected. The good thing about it is that there are things you learn along the way...living healthier and being conscientious of what we put in and on our bodies, the toxic substances we use in our home such as air fresheners and candles. Simple changes such as changing toothpastes for healthier versions can be small wins from more education. So please remember there are going to be good days with the bad. Good luck! Anyone with any questions can reach out and I'll do my best to give you the knowledge I can.
