7 months agoAll your medical records need to be shipped to the hospital that does help woman with breast cancer. MD Anderson is the leading hospital for Breast Cancer or The University of Miami which is the hospital where I had a Mastactomy surgery on February 24. My surgeon is the best. The next day after this surgery my doctor arranged for me to be admitted for 3 datys. The norm is discharge the next day which is horrible as women that have undergone this surgery are emotionally drained and very depressed. This must change

Getting medical records transferred to a specialized cancer center typically involves contacting the medical records department at your current healthcare provider and requesting they send your files to the new facility - most hospitals have specific procedures for this process. It sounds like you've found excellent care and advocacy for longer recovery stays, which can make such a difference during this challenging time.

4 months agoHi Pauline I too have breast cancer which has spread to my bones in my back. I too go to U Health which is Sylvester (U of M) I’ve been going there since my hell started. My Dr. is one of the best and knows what she’s doing.she’s head of the department, does research and does trials. Yes been 13 yrs with her. I’m trying to move to Naples Fl. and refuse to give up my Drs. So I’m keeping my apartment to beable to come back when I need to be here. Right now it’s it’s every 3 wks. cause I’m back in immunotherapy with chemo. Infusion. I’m going on my 4th one and the change is unbelievable. The tumor was resting on my spine and I had pain down my leg and side. And of course my back. And my markers were up. Now after 3 infusions my markers have come down 50% and my back, leg and side pain is gone. I do have a bad back anyway but it’s back the way it was before all this mess started. I only hurt when I’m on my feet too long. So see there is hope for us all. It’s a horrible battle to have to fight but knowing that we’re all going through the same thing more or less helps to know that the understanding is out there and that we have each other’s back. Please feel free to write me anytime. Mary
