COSMETIC GRAFTING FOR FACE Greetings - I wanted to share this with the group as it gave me a much needed pick-me-up & something to look forward to as I waited for my reconstruction. When I discovered that fat grafting needed to be done, I asked my plastic surgeon if he could fill-in some areas on my almost 60 yr old face. I have never had any fillers, nor wanted any, but since they were taking my own fat??🤔 He said, “sure!” I had to pay for the additional surgery room time and his time which was an additional 1/2 hour. (total $2k) He did my nasolabial folds along my nose, marionette lines, sides/under eyes and center of eyebrows. Needless to say, I am thrilled! I am so glad I thought I’d share. It really gave me a boost. A little swollen and bruised. Not much pain. Absolutely uplifting mentally as I’m laying around recovering from my breast reconstruction!! I hope this helps some others! 🩷

What a wonderful example of making the most of a necessary procedure! Yes, cosmetic fat grafting can often be done during breast reconstruction when fat grafting is already part of the surgical plan. This approach allows patients to address multiple concerns in one surgery, potentially reducing overall recovery time and costs. It's encouraging to hear how this additional procedure has provided such a positive mental boost during recovery. Thank you for sharing this helpful information - it may inspire others to have similar conversations with their plastic surgeons about what options might be available during their own reconstruction journey.
