4 months agoHey, Starlene here. Age 48, just diagnosed grade 1, mass is under 1cm. That’s all I know right now. My family keeps telling me don’t worry about it. It’s gonna be fine but you cannot admit yourself. You have cancer without thinking about death. Yes I’m aware of people survived every day and I’m also aware that people die from it every day. feel like I really can’t talk about it much cause then I’m seeking attention. A woman in the lobby when I was getting a biopsy, welcomed me to the club that nobody ever wants to be a part of.

Finding your way through a new cancer diagnosis takes time, and it's completely natural to have mixed feelings about what lies ahead. The feelings you're experiencing are valid - many people in this community understand that processing a diagnosis involves confronting difficult thoughts, and that doesn't mean you're seeking attention or being negative. Consider connecting with others here who have walked similar paths, as they can offer perspectives that help during this overwhelming time.

4 months agoI understand where you’re coming from Starlene. the thoughts that go in and out of your head are sometimes overwhelming. people that don’t have breast cancer have absolutely no idea how we feel they have an understanding that breast cancer is curable and that were so lucky we got things in time. But when it happens to you, your mind goes everywhere. I feel like all the treatment medically is wonderful, but I don’t think the medical field really hits the mental part of it as they should. I feel we all are supposed to feel a certain kind of way , in the medical field is all positive all the time It’s hard for me to explain in words I mean, I’m grateful that people are so positive around me, but that doesn’t help how you feel on the inside. For me diagnosed stage 1 over a year ago after surgery stage 2 with lymph node involvement the whole ordeal is worrisome. The best thing we can do is stay positive and live our lives to the fullest
