2 years agoHas anyone not been able to do the breast MRI due to severe chlostrophobia? What was the alternative
Accepted Answer
Many people experience anxiety about MRI scans, and claustrophobia can definitely make breast MRI challenging. Healthcare teams are often understanding about this concern and may offer alternatives like sedation, open MRI machines, or other imaging options depending on your specific situation. It would be helpful to hear from others in the community who have faced similar challenges and learn what solutions worked for them.

7 months agoI've had to be pulled out. I was given something for surgery so I would not remember being intubated or restrained. It has worked so well that l I am going to talk with anesthesiology team about knocking me completely out for MRI. I cannot stand that thing above my face.

7 months agoIf you have claustrophobia, which my husband does, be very clear with your Dr. that you need to have some anti-anxiety meds before the scan. Alprazolam, diazepam and lorazepam all good choices. Take 1 hrs before. You will need a driver, but it is nothing to be embarrassed about! It is very common.
