a year agoHello everyone, my first chemo was last Thursday. Taxo, perjeta, herceptin, carboplatin. It all went well but it's been a few days now I'm extremely exhausted my mouth feels dry and I've had diarrhea all day it's making my belly hurt so bad. I was only giving nausea meds which I don't have any so I'm not sure if I should take and see if it it'll help w the bloatiness.

These side effects after your first chemo session sound really challenging, and it's completely understandable to feel uncertain about managing them. Many patients experience similar symptoms like fatigue, dry mouth, and digestive issues after treatment, so you're definitely not alone in this. It would be worth reaching out to your medical team about these symptoms - they can provide specific guidance about managing the discomfort and may have additional medications or strategies that could help beyond the nausea medication you mentioned.

7 months agoPlease call your Oncologist. Prior to my first chemo treatment on 8/26/24 I had a one one one chemo education where I was explained what could happen and the approved products to have in hand. It was a valuable help. I have reference material on hand they provided. My breast hospital gave me a resource guide as well but the oncologist documents are specifically for my treatment plan which is included in the other book as well. I didn’t experience diarrhea but I have Imodium AD on hand if it does. I just had chemo #2 yesterday. So far this day 2 feels a lot better. I still have exhaustion which I’m told is normal for all cycles. Have in there my sister. Call your doctors office. We don’t have to go through this alone.

7 months agoI called yesterday, and they told me to take Pedcid AC and immodium. Pedcid has helped a lot! The pain it's starting to go away. The diarrhea not so much 😫
