8 months agoI was diagnosed on march 24 ,2025 ...with invasive ductal carcinoma...er/pr positive ... waiting on my first oncologist appointment on Tuesday.... I don't understand what this means? I waiting is so stressful.
Accepted Answer
Invasive ductal carcinoma with hormone receptor positive status means the cancer cells have receptors for estrogen and progesterone, which often responds well to hormone therapy treatments. The oncologist appointment will provide much clearer answers about the specific stage, treatment options, and what to expect moving forward - they'll explain everything in detail and create a personalized treatment plan.

6 months agoHi! I was diagnosed with the same thing on March 12th, I went to see the oncologist to talk about chemotherapy and targeted therapy, she order a CT scan and a bone Scan then I went to see the surgeon to talk about surgery after chemotherapy, she ordered a Breast MRI then I have to see the radiation doctor because they recommended after surgery.

6 months agoAll the testing up front was pretty fast for me. I also started reading on the susanbkomen website to learn as much as I could so I understood all the things they were saying to me. I recorded my dr. Appointments or had my husband with me so I could further understand. I was diagnosed on February 26, with the same er/pr+ hers-. My first tumor was about 8mm (small), and mri reviled another spot that was even smaller, but it was a different cancer, same er/pr+ I opted for a double mastectomy and had that done yesterday. My dr. Said in maine, for the hospitals to stay accredited, the drs have 60 days from diagnosis to have the surgery. Now, I wait for the final pathology report to know what treatment I’ll need, chemo/radiation or just endocrine therapy that website was a nice tool to learn from.
