2 hours agoHello everyone! I am 50 years old, not yet menopausal, and was just diagnosed with IDC and DCIS triple positive. I meet with my oncologist on Friday for the first time. I also have an MRI scheduled by my surgeon to determine lymph node involvement and what my surgical options are. My mom had a partial mastectomy back in the mid-90’s (we don’t have the gene, though) for DCIS and she said the lymph node removal was the worst part. Since she went through radiation therapy and things were so different back then anyway, I’m hoping to learn as much as I can, figuring that if I can look at it more clinically, it will be less scary or intimidating or whatever.
