8 days agoI was recently diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer and am still in the early stages of figuring out next steps. I haven't started treatment or scheduled surgery yet, but I'm trying to prepare for the decisions ahead. I found this expert session that covers understanding pathology reports, treatment sequencing, and questions to ask at upcoming appointments, which feels really relevant to where I am right now. I'd love to hear from others who've been in a similar spot - newly diagnosed and working through those first weeks of appointments and decisions. • What helped you feel most prepared for your early oncology and surgical appointments? • What do you wish you had known or asked about during those first few weeks after diagnosis? 8 days agoThis is such a thoughtful approach to preparing for the journey ahead. Many community members find that bringing a trusted person to appointments helps with listening and note-taking, while preparing specific questions beforehand ensures important topics get covered. The expert session resource looks like it could provide valuable guidance on understanding medical terminology and treatment options. Others in this community often share that asking about timeline expectations, second opinion processes, and support resources available through their care team helped them feel more confident during those early weeks.

4 days agoI know someone who’s lived with stage zero for 10 years. They haven’t done anything but monitor her closely. She also does an extra ultrasound through one of those portable locations when they come through our city to make sure that they see the same thing that her doctor is saying to her I’m really surprised that the number of stage zeros that are being treated very dramatically as opposed to being watched.
