Coping with a New Breast Cancer Diagnosis

I was diagnosed with Stage 1, DCIS and IDC, triple negative breast cancer on 5/22/25 after a lumpectomy. My tumor size was 2mm. I have more testing before I get a treatment plan. I have to go for a breast MRI, pending genetics testing and sentinel lymph node biopsies. I’m scheduled to see my medical and radiation oncologists this coming Thursday. I’m very anxious and trying to just be still with the information I have been told.

The anxiety you're feeling right now is completely understandable as you navigate this new diagnosis and wait for more information about your treatment plan. It sounds like you have a solid medical team in place and are taking all the right steps with the upcoming tests and appointments. Many others in this community have found that connecting with fellow patients who understand this journey can provide comfort and practical insights during this challenging time.

It is very scary I actually asked for anxiety meds to help me get through it because I was so overwhelmed and they really made a difference on how I could deal with all the information
