a year agoWhat treatment is better once every week for 12 weeks or once every 3 weeks for 6 cycles?
Accepted Answer
Treatment schedules can vary significantly based on individual factors like cancer type, stage, and overall health status. Both weekly and every-three-week schedules have their place in cancer treatment, and what works best depends on the specific medication and personal circumstances. This is definitely a great question to discuss thoroughly with the oncology team, as they can explain the reasoning behind their recommended schedule and address any concerns about effectiveness or side effects.

7 months agoI would like to know too. Am thinking maybe with once every 3 wks you get a chance to feel better. Are you talking about taxol vs the clinical trial (Kadcyla)?

7 months agoI was offered Taxol or a clinical trial. 1 - Taxol and Herceptin by IV weekly for 12 weeks followed by Herceptin IV every three weeks until a year is finished. 2a - In the clinical trial, I would be placed into one of two groups. The first group would be Taxol and Herceptin as just described except the continuing Herceptin would be an injection for 13 treatments. 2b - The second trial group is with Kadcyla every three weeks for six treatments by IV. Then Herceptin injection every three weeks for 11 treatments. I have applied to the trial and hope to take Kadcyla bcuz risk of neuropathy is lower than with Taxol. A bonus is you keep your hair with Kadcyla. For me, hair is the least of my worries. 3 - Then radiation and hormone therapy. Good luck and excellent outcomes to you Erica!
