How long does soreness last after breast cancer surgery and radiation?

8 days agoHi, everyone. I’ve had this app for awhile just haven’t written anything. I was operated on November 28 , 2024. I just had a small lump. They also removed lymph nodes but it had not spread. I did radiation for about a month. Then I started the 5 year pill. I’m supposed to get another mammogram this week but been sick so I might change it. I’ve had one mammogram since surgery, only side that was operated on. This time will be both sides. It’s been over a year, still sore hope goes away soon. 8 days agoSoreness and discomfort after breast cancer surgery and radiation can last different amounts of time for each person, and it's completely normal to still experience some soreness even a year later. Many patients find that scar tissue, changes from radiation, and the body's healing process can cause ongoing tenderness that gradually improves over time. It's wonderful that you're staying on top of your follow-up mammograms and connecting with others in the community - sharing experiences and support with fellow patients can be incredibly helpful during recovery.
