3 years agoI'm wondering if KI67 gives us an idea of how fast the cancer grows? For example if I had a KI67 of 35 and a 2 cm tumor, does it mean it likely started growing 6 months ago or a year ago or??

Ki67 is a helpful marker that shows how many cancer cells are actively dividing, but it doesn't work like a timeline to tell us exactly when a tumor started growing. Cancer growth is complex and can vary based on many factors like the specific type of cancer, individual biology, and other characteristics of the tumor. While a higher Ki67 score generally indicates more active cell division, predicting how long a tumor has been growing requires your oncologist to consider many different factors together, including imaging, pathology, and your specific situation.
