Radiologist said that mine was estrogen and progesterone positive and she said that was a good thing… I didn’t ask any more questions after that can anyone answer why that’s good?

Estrogen and progesterone positive breast cancer is often considered encouraging news because these hormone receptors give doctors more targeted treatment options. When cancer cells have these receptors, they can often be treated with hormone therapy medications that block estrogen's effects, which can be very effective at preventing cancer growth and recurrence. This type of breast cancer typically responds well to treatment and tends to have better outcomes compared to hormone receptor-negative cancers. Many others in this community have walked this path and found success with hormone-positive treatments - feel free to share any other questions as you navigate this journey.

Estrogen and progesterone positive are usually slow growing compared to the more aggressive HER2.

Are you taking an estrogen blocker?

My surgeon said that was about the best outcome because it would be slow growing and hormone blocker treatments were very effective.
