Hi, everyone! Sending healing vibes your way! I’ve read through a number of past posts - very helpful. It looks like the waiting game between diagnosis and beginning of treatment is a struggle for most of us. With that in mind, I was hoping to learn more about other patients’ timelines… Would you mind sharing yours? Mine, so far: - Diagnosed on 7/10 (DCIS and IDC, less than 8 mm, ER-, PR+, HER2+) - Breast onc surgeons appt on 7/12 (got very lucky there, I was told) - Breast onc said he could order MRI but did not believe it was needed and left it up to me. - Med onc appt scheduled for 7/23 at first but I got a call yesterday sayingit was a mistake and got postponed to 8:14 - Genetics consultation scheduled for 7:24

Thank you for sharing your timeline and creating this helpful discussion for others going through similar experiences. The waiting periods between appointments can definitely feel challenging, and having a community space to compare timelines and experiences can provide valuable perspective. Hopefully other members will share their journeys here, as these real-world timelines often help newly diagnosed patients understand what to expect and feel less alone in the process.

I was diagnosed in late December ductal in one breast lobler in the other..stage 1 bilateral mastectomy done necessary for one the other I elected to remove .. glad I did cancer undetected with imaging found as well ..tissue expanders put in at that time for future reconstruction ,onco test taken score of 8 no chemotherapy but five weeks of radiation …after healing from mastectomy surgery radiation ended the week of April 15th all filled and exchange surgery to implants is slated for mid august so for me it is about a 6 1/2 month from diagnosis to implants .. so my team was efficient , communication was great between GP,Breast Surgeon, Oncologist, Radiation Oncologist, and Plastic Surgeon and Physical Therapist.. so I believe I’m in the best of hands going forward

I had my annual mammogram on 6/7 and was called back for additional imaging. Additional images and sonogram on 6/24, and they measured it at 1 cm. Biopsy on 7/1 confirmed IDC ER + PR + and HR2 -. Appointment with Oncology surgeon on 7/12. I had my lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy on 7/24. The surgeon said we should have pathology back in a week, and she will give me a call. I have a follow-up appointment with her on 8/13

It’s important to learn the predecessor and successor steps for the process since you need to sched appointments/ get alternative appts if you have dr preferences/ need second opinions. For example if you have chemo you’ll need port surgery first. Your area/ facilities avail will make the difference.

My second tumor was discovered with an MRI, I would definite get that MRI. It is not your surgeons job to save your insurance $.

I was diagnosed on 6/17 with two tumors in my left breast. IDC hr+ pr+ . I had picked a surgeon and oncologists but first was sent for an MRI and then another biopsy on the other tumors. I had a breast MRI and they found two more tumors in the same breast. You should get an MRI. My care team said it is the best way to see everything. I saw my surgeon and oncologist within three weeks of diagnosis. My surgery was on August 9th for a unilateral mastectomy. It would have been a week sooner but I pushed it out because my son was getting married in the beginning of August.

Would a MRI detect anything in lymph nodes.

Yes, the MRI showed no lymph node involvement. But, they said you never really know until surgery. But, it was correct. I had no cancer in my lymph nodes.
