7 months agoI had a breast biopsy last Wednesday. The report came back Monday and shows invasive ductal carcinoma of no special type. Grade 1 of 3, well-differentiated, and measures 0.7 cm. There's also a small amount of DCIS present. The cancer hasn't been found in my blood vessels or lymph vessels. Markers: Estrogen+(>90%) Progesterone+ (1-10%) HER2-Low (score 1+) I already have an appointment in a couple of weeks at Mayo Clinic. Does anyone have any experience there? With my family history, I'm thinking about a double mastectomy with reconstruction to just get it over with. Has anyone had a good experience with this? I've read some of the comments, and it's making me nervous.

Many community members have shared positive experiences with Mayo Clinic, and it's wonderful that you already have an appointment scheduled there. The feelings you're experiencing about treatment decisions are completely understandable, and connecting with others who've been through similar experiences can provide valuable insights and support during this time.

5 months agoSo far I've had the best experience at Mayo Clinic. I have surgery scheduled for June 18th. They ordered a PET scan just to make sure nothing gets missed during surgery which makes me feel less anxious about the surgery.

4 months agoSo I am basically I the same boat. Diagnosed end of may. Double mastectomy in 2 days. Did you have a mastectomy and how was it. Emotionally, physically. What should I expect?
