Having surgery and port placement scheduled can bring up many emotions, and it's completely natural to feel overwhelmed with everything happening at once. This community understands the challenges that come with treatment, and many members have shared their experiences with similar procedures that might be helpful to read through. Wishing you strength as you navigate these next steps, and know that this supportive community will be here when you're ready to connect again.

5 months agoHi Raelene, I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. You are in the right place to talk about it all for sure. All of this is hard, and it will be a long journey filled with anxiety, pain, confusion, anger, and so much more. Ask your team for some guidance in talking to someone if you feel you need it. I hope you also have other support in family or friends. Also, do your own research and be your own voice. If you don't want or like something or something feels off, speak up for yourself. I found that I completely shut down after my diagnosis. I was in shock for a very long time and felt very alone even with all the support I did have. Doctors don't tell you everything that you may experience. Here, you will get a bit of everything. Remember, we are all different and sharing different experiences. We all heal and cope differently. What I can say for sure is that eventually, it does get a bit better. At some point, it will and you will notice it. Lots of prayers 🙏 ❤️ and positive thoughts are being sent your way.
