3 years agoCan you have an abnormal mammogram but not have cancer?
Accepted Answer
Yes, abnormal mammogram results can occur without cancer being present. Many factors can cause abnormal findings, including dense breast tissue, cysts, benign lumps, or previous injuries. While abnormal results naturally cause concern, they often lead to additional testing that provides clarity and peace of mind. The community here understands how stressful waiting for answers can be, and many members have navigated similar experiences with follow-up imaging or biopsies that turned out to be benign.

7 months agoYes. I had two lesions removed (one in my cervix one on my uterine wall) and another lesion outside of my cervix and another tumor outside of my cervix. All came back HSIL CIN 3 and CIS. Since I have the BRCA gene and HER2- I I was sent to get a mammogram and it came back negative but I was told I have such dense breast tissue that it could possible it just didn't show up and I needed to follow up with a ultrasound and MRI.
