2 years agoIs anyone else just as stressed about bills piling up??? I just started this journey and they are adding up fast!! How do you afford treatment? It’s a shame knowing you have this awful disease and still have to worry about how you are going to pay for it. And yes I have insurance! I got an estimate for my lumpectomy right before my MRI this morning and I got so sick to my stomach I was scared I wasn’t going to finish my MRI.

The financial burden of cancer treatment can feel overwhelming on top of everything else you're dealing with right now. Many patients in this community have shared similar concerns about medical costs, and there are resources that might help - including financial assistance programs through hospitals, nonprofit organizations, and sometimes pharmaceutical companies. Consider reaching out to a patient financial advocate at your treatment center, as they often know about options that aren't widely advertised and can help navigate insurance coverage questions.

8 months agoYes!! I've been working with my hospital's social work. She gave me a list of organizations that help with this. Some have income guidelines and some don't. I have insurance and I'm working through my treatments, but these copays add up quickly!

8 months ago@Stacey, YES!!! The accumulation of medical bills caused me to be sick to my stomach as well. 😔I too have insurance, but I also have to pay a lot out of pocket. I waited until my treatment was over and worked out payment plans. I still wonder if I’ve been billed for everything or will there be a surprise bill surface soon! I finished my last radiation treatment January 17th. It is hard not to stress when you’re fighting for your life and the bills continue to pile up! Praying for us all that we are able to navigate through this horrible disease and resolve the medical bills without causing more stress🙏🏽 You are NOT alone!
