a year agoHas anyone insisted on being sedated for sentinel node biopsy? I have a super low pain tolerance and vomit then pass out and will not go through that.
Accepted Answer
Many patients do request and receive sedation for sentinel node biopsies, especially when they have concerns about pain tolerance or anxiety around medical procedures. This is definitely something worth discussing with the surgical team ahead of time, as they can often accommodate requests for additional comfort measures during the procedure. Other community members may have helpful experiences to share about what worked for them when advocating for their comfort needs with their medical team.

9 months agoI will be having this done. I just had my lumpectomy and the nausea coming out of that was bad. I told my surgeon and she recommended I tell the anesthesiologist about my nausea and they will add things to the anesthesia mix to help with it for the lymph node biopsies

9 months agoI had lumpectomy with 2 nodes removed. I always wake up from anesthesia crying and nauseous. Tell the anesthesiologist and they can give meds for that, as well as give meds afterward for nausea I had very little pain afterwards and didn't even take pain meds
