6 months agoReceived a diagnosis of metaplastic carcinoma. Spot was 5mm and was typed as triple negative (estrogen was weakly positive 5-10%). Sentinel node biopsy was negative. Had a double mastectomy. Cancer has said to be stage 1a which I know is extremely rare to have caught it that easily. Should I still do chemo and:or radiation?
Accepted Answer
Treatment decisions after early-stage diagnosis can feel overwhelming, and it's completely understandable to weigh all the options carefully. The best path forward depends on many individual factors that only the medical team can fully evaluate, so discussing the specific benefits and risks of additional treatments with the oncologist will help provide the clearest guidance for this particular situation.

5 months agoYes totally. I just was seeing if there was anyone out there with metaplastic that had advise since it's so rare. I'm not sure my oncologist has come across it before (it's a smaller area) and I'd rather be proactive than reactive.
