2 months agoI was diagnosed with colon cancer about 2 weeks ago. I had CT scans done on Friday and fortunately I do not have any other places other than a lymph node that is pretty enlarged pretty close to the tumor. So I’m looking at surgery then possibly some chemo. This is pretty scary all I can do is go day by day. I’m interested your experiences with the surgery and chemo. Sheila

The surgery and chemotherapy journey can feel overwhelming, but many people in this community have walked this path and found strength they didn't know they had. It's completely natural to feel scared right now, and taking things day by day is a wise approach that many find helpful during treatment. Others here have valuable experiences to share about both surgical recovery and chemotherapy - hopefully some community members will chime in with their insights to help you know what to expect.

2 months agoIm in your shoes so to speak. I haven't heard whether there's any cancer in one of my lymph nodes yet, but so far it hasn't spread outside my colon. I go in for my surgery tomorrow. We aren't sure whether I will need chemo yet. Im praying for you. I will keep you posted as soon as I am able as to how the surgery goes

2 months agoIm still in the hospital after my surgery on the 29th. Surgery went well. Im in a lot of pain, but things are improving. Doctor wants to check my lymph nodes to be sure cancer hasn't spread to them, but overall she's fairly confident she got it all. She wants me to recover a bit before we do the tests. I should be released home tomorrow. The hospital staff here have been outstanding! As have my family and friends

2 months agoLl It's interesting to read the difference in treatment for seemingly the same cancer. My original oncologist has said I will need daily chemo, five days a week for six weeks along with daily radiation treatment at same time Is anyone else getting same regimen and how are you copung? Feeling?

2 months agoAnonymous User, sorry for your loss. My dad had Prostate cancer that was cured using a radioactive isotope placed near his cancer. He was in his 60's, and lived to 76 dying to old age. My brother had kidney cancer, cancerous kidney was removed and because it was self contained he never requires chemo or radiation and that was over 30 tyears ago. We should all be so lucky
