Getting a new diagnosis can feel incredibly overwhelming, and those feelings are completely normal as you begin this journey. Many people in this community have found that connecting with others who understand what you're going through, focusing on one step at a time (like your upcoming scan), and working closely with your medical team can help manage the fear and uncertainty that comes with a colorectal cancer diagnosis.

3 months agoHello Alana. CT scan is good. Did they say what stage you are? I was 3 but no lymph nodes involved. Doing CT scan every 6 months to check. Had 25 radiation treatments to shrink tumor and 6 chemo treatments every three weeks. This month is one year since last treatment. Will keep prayers for you. So far I have elected for no surgery unless we find something else. Keep positive attitude. You can get through this. My daughter also went through ovarian cancer at same time. She is cancer free at this point but on 6 month checks. Ken

3 months agoLove your outlook Alana! I also have colon cancer & am currently in chemotherapy. I still recall the stress of “waiting” for results & options. My oncologist said that our positive outlook can accomplish amazing things & that I would be amazed at what a difference it makes in this journey! So keep at it even through the tough times & know that we’re all cheering you on!

3 months agoGot the CT results. There is no sign of the cancer anywhere but my colon. Thankful for that. I go in for surgery on the 29th. Hopeful that the doc can remove all of the tumor, and that chemo won't be necessary.
