12 days agoI’m 80 years old, diagnosed with stage 4 Melanoma in lung….. small lesion that I’m going to have radiated…..I’ve had 15 surgeries in last two years…..13 for in situ melanoma spots….. and two with general anathesia for stage 1A and 1b…… clear lymph nodes….. I’m not inclined to go with the rigors of immunotherapy at this point in my life and have kind of decided not to do it when offered next week…..does anybody think I’m making the right decision here in view of what I’ve already been through …. and my age ….. don’t think I could manage the side effects, at this point in time….Thank you

12 days agoThis is such a personal and difficult decision that only you and your medical team can make together. After everything you've been through with multiple surgeries, it's completely understandable to have concerns about additional treatment and its potential impact on your quality of life. Many people in similar situations weigh the potential benefits against side effects and what matters most to them at this stage. Consider having an open conversation with your oncologist about your concerns - they can help you understand all your options and what to expect, so you can make the decision that feels right for you.
