How do you cope with a CML diagnosis when you're still in disbelief?

I was diagnosed with CML in March of this year. Numbers started at 29000. So far we going in right direction and now at 400. Doctors think it was from burn pits in Iraq during Desert Storm cause I have no family history. Still in disbelief.

Disbelief is such a common response to a CML diagnosis, and it's completely understandable to feel that way even months after receiving the news. The fact that your numbers have dropped so significantly from 29,000 to 400 shows real progress in your treatment journey, which many others in this community will find encouraging to hear about.

I was recently diagnosed with CML. I started my medication therapy last week. No chemo. It is so upsetting for me, because I feel angry and depressed. My husband and children think I should just be grateful that it was not acute. I feel guilty about feeling this way. I am thrilled that it was not acute, but I still have a chronic disease. I feel so alone in this emotional journey.
