My oncologist stopped my immunotherapy infusion and started me on cabozantinib tablet; however, the cost of the drug is extremely expensive. A month’s supply will cost around 24K - 26K, which I have applied for financial assistance, but until now, I haven’t heard if it was approved or not.

The financial burden of cancer medications can be overwhelming, and waiting for financial assistance approval adds extra stress during an already challenging time. Many patients in similar situations have found success by contacting the drug manufacturer directly for patient assistance programs, exploring nonprofit organizations that help with medication costs, or asking their care team about alternative funding resources. This community has many members who have navigated similar challenges and may have valuable insights to share about accessing affordable treatment options.

My treatment has not as yet started I was informed of my Liver Cancer two weeks ago that I had 4-6 months without treatment or possibly 1 -3 years with treatment. I was then told I would have immunotherapy but later I was informed that due to my heart condition this would not be advisable and the suggestion was now to take tablets. I’m due to visit my oncologist tomorrow to go over the details, having read your message regarding the cost of these tablets how can anyone afford them? Do you have any further financial advice or update on financial assistance?
