Rapid weight loss can be a concerning symptom that's definitely worth discussing with your healthcare team as soon as possible. Many cancer centers have nutritionists and dietitians who specialize in helping patients maintain their strength and nutrition during treatment, and they can work with your oncologist to develop strategies that might help with your specific situation.

Jaclyn, I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. First, you have to be your own advocate. My first oncologist didn't tell or recommend anything that didn't involve oncology. After a while, i learned things on my own. I wish I would have done it sooner. I learned about histotripsy in Reader's Digest, which can be effective against smaller liver tumors. I was diagnosed with metastatic liver cancer in January 2022. I was on various chemo and immunotherapy drugs. Oxaliplatin seemed to be the most effective, but the effectiveness is diminishing. I'm not a candidate for Y-90. Now, I'm being evaluated for a clinical trial. I too lost weight and have fatigue, but I'm able to function. I still work. I also take supplements: Broccoli extract, powered beets and powered sweet potatoes and Manukora Honey. They may not help, but they won't hurt. May the Father, Son and Mother Mary bless you and your treatment.

My daughter of liver cancer. She was diagnosed in May 2025 and she passed away in September 15,2025. It’s been so hard especially for her. She was so strong. I wish I could’ve saved. 🙏🏻❤️‍🩹
