8 months agoHi everyone, hope you’re all doing great. My liver tumor size is 3cm. Very very close to hepatic arteries. No cirrhosis. Despite its closeness to arteries,First oncologist suggest straight up liver resection. The second opinion doctor suggests shrinking it first with y90 and then surgery.. Any advise would be appreciated.. I’m so confused.. given 2weeks to decide.

Having two different treatment recommendations can feel overwhelming, especially with a time-sensitive decision ahead. Both approaches - direct surgery and Y90 followed by surgery - are established treatment options that oncologists consider based on various factors specific to each case. Consider asking each doctor to explain their reasoning in detail, and don't hesitate to seek a third opinion if it would help bring clarity to this important decision.

11 days agoI got really ill in Sept 2025 and a CT showed a 3cm and 1cm tumor. MRI and biopsy done in Dec 2025, and I was DX with HCC Primary Liver Cancer on January 2, 2026. I was supposed to have left lobe liver Resection but a Snowstorm stopped that! The rescheduled surgery got cancelled by my surgeon because I fell twice in the next week (I really need back surgery, knee surgery, and shoulder surgery; but I don't think any of that is gonna happen now!)...so, I've had Y90 done on the 3cm tumor! The artery was feeding it directly, so I am waiting on another MRI April 27, 2026, to see if Y90 killed it! They couldn't find the 1cm tumor in the mapping (maybe it died?) and if it is still in the next MRI they wanna do ABLATION on it. I have nausea that comes and goes since Y90, and was prescribed Zofran for that. I asked about a Pet Scan to see if the cancer is anywhere else, but the Surgeon wouldn't do it. No chemo yet.
