Hello ladies. Looking for for some hope here. Diagnosed MBC January 2022. Underwent chemo and have been on maintenance infusions since. Just learned the day after my 48th birthday that I have a reoccurrence in my breast. How do you all keep the fight? I feel like I’m doing something wrong even though I changed everything about my life even giving it to Christ. I’m so broken right now.

Facing a recurrence after already fighting so hard can feel overwhelming, and those feelings of being broken are completely understandable. Many in this community have walked similar paths and found that setbacks don't mean anything was done wrong - cancer can be unpredictable despite our best efforts. The strength needed to keep fighting often comes from connecting with others who truly understand this journey, and this community is here to support each other through both the difficult days and the victories.

Mona, I wish I could give you hope, so I'll pray that God will find it in your heart. I've been an 8.5 year survivor. I have great, good and not so great years. But, I want to be here for my kids, granddaughters, family, friends, neighbors and for me. I've had help 1st a great psychiatrist, he has me on Cynbalta 90 mg and Xanax .25mg. Cynbalta not only helps with depression, it is effective on bone pain. The Xanax is a low dose, but it keeps my mind from racing so I can sleep. My oncologist is very good at helping manage side effects. I have educated myself so I can ask her questions. I have a cheat sheet for my blood work, I know if PLT is 8 or below, I have shortness of breath. If GRF is less than 60, my kidneys aren't happy. So drink water. I have hobbies, quilting and painting. But sometimes I'm a couch potato. I know you can do this! I love you, Ginny

MBC breast cancer with a lesion found in what area besides your breast? Are you hormone positive? HER2 positive, triple negative? Your maintenance infusions after chemo quit working so you will be put on a new treatment. It is the nature of MBC. I just had the same thing happen and I’ll start on a new infusion next week. I like you have gotten in shape, lost extra weight, eat super healthy and keep positive. Keep on course.Keep doing what you are doing! Enjoy every moment!!! You could have a good 30 years to go or more! Nobody knows. Listen to positive affirmations on you tube when you need a boost!! 😘

Hello Mona, first don't give up! I've been dealing with this since 2010 and I'm still around! After several different treatments, double mastectomy, I've been in NEAD for over a year. I try to keep my diet clean, my faith has given me the strength to go on, and someone suggested for me to eat or drink prickly pear juice or fruit. I believe that's when I saw a turn around. Please don't lose heart. I'm so grateful to have a wonderful oncologist who is supportive and positive. Remember, none of us have an expiration date!

I was diagnosed August 2022 with stage 4 MBC. It's for me to keep fighting but I think of wanting to see my niece graduate high school, her brother getting married, my family that cares as well as my boyfriend and our 2 cats who are our kids since I can't get pregnant. Just keep focused on all the positive in your life which for me helps me to keep fighting
