10 months agoHi everyone. Have been on taxol and carbo started my fifth cycle today. Had CT scan Friday showed minimal changes to liver metz and now shows low density bilateral lesions on thyroid. Oncologist was not going to address thyroid til I asked now will have thyroid biopsy. "When there is evidence of additional metz then he will change chemo." Anyone else ever feel like you are fighting your oncologist along with your cancer?
Accepted Answer
Many patients experience challenges in their relationship with their oncology team, and these communication difficulties can feel especially overwhelming when managing treatment decisions. It's encouraging that you advocated for yourself regarding the thyroid findings and were able to get the biopsy scheduled. Have others in this community found helpful ways to improve communication with their care team or strategies for feeling more confident in these important conversations?
