Finding the right treatment center for ER+ metastatic breast cancer is such an important decision, and it's encouraging to see your proactive approach. Many patients find it helpful to look for comprehensive cancer centers with specialized breast oncology teams, strong research programs, and experience with the latest targeted therapies for hormone-positive breast cancer. Consider reaching out to other community members who may have insights about treatment centers they've experienced, and don't hesitate to get second opinions to help guide your decision.

Hi Tammy, I have found that Memorial Sloan Kettering NYC is one of the best places to get treatment . They have doctors that specialize in individual types of cancers plus it is a research hospital so trials are available . . The care I have been receiving is excellent, every question gets answered and they leave nothing to chance. I’m sure there are comparable cancer centers throughout the country. If you’re in the New York area MSK IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! best of luck to you!

I’m 4 years out from my mbc (er/pr+; Her2+). I’m at Rogle Cancer Center at Univ of Mich. My care has been excellent. Regimen is: Phesgo injection every 3 weeks, Letrozole and Imodium daily, Zometa infusion every 3 months for Mets to T2. Scans every 6 months now and no other Mets. Echos every 6 months show heart is good. Tumor marker every 3 weeks is very stable. All labs every three weeks are also normal. I feel very lucky.

Hi Tammy. I live in NYS and have had zoom consults with Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC, I actually drive myself to Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo NY and I work with them in conjunction with my local oncologist in Ithaca NY, who I trust very much! I did go in May 2024 to MD Anderson in Houston TX and I have to say, that i was 100% with every single staff person I came into contact with there. It was next level, the very best experience I’ve had. I was there for a second opinion, doing due diligence to ensure I wasn’t missing anything and the wonderful doctor there confirmed that my local oncologist was doing exactly what he would do. This gave me peace of mind. Not sure where you live but if you can, check them out I highly recommend.

I have two oncologists. My original oncologist here in Memphis that I’ve been seeing every 6 mos. since my first diagnosis of Stage 1 IDC in 2007, and my oncologist at MD Anderson, who I started going to with this second diagnosis of Stage 4 MBC to the bones in June 2023. I can’t say enough about either one of them! Both of them are amazing, and I definitely agree with Julia’s thoughts about MD Anderson! Every time I walk inside I feel positive energy and hope!

I feel like I'm getting a level of expertise, resources and compassion at Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY that far exceeds my previous provider.
