a year agoIbrance is expensive! My co-pay is $3300. Per month. I can’t afford that. Is there any organization that can help? My income is too high for most programs, ($47000), but not high enough to cover the copay’ any suggestions or ideas on how to get some assistance? Thank you! 🩷

Managing high medication costs can feel overwhelming, especially when income levels don't qualify for traditional assistance programs. The Ibrance manufacturer offers a copay assistance program that may help reduce monthly costs, and organizations like CancerCare, Patient Advocate Foundation, and Good Days provide financial assistance specifically for cancer medications. Speaking with a patient navigator or social worker at the treatment center can also connect patients with additional local and national resources that might be available based on specific circumstances.

7 months agoPfizer has a program (can’t remember the name) to provide Ibrance for people with incomes at your level. I don’t know the specific guidelines but I make a bit more and qualified. I pay nothing. Initially I had to provide a copy of my my income tax return and then in December just my social security statement. My doctor’s office coordinated / had to complete firms but you can ask them directly with questions 877) 744-5675. Monday through Friday. Good luck!

7 months agoHi Melissa, I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through. There are funds available for MBC patients; PAN and the Assistance Fund are two that I’m familiar with. Have you talked to the financial aid person at your oncologist’s office or someone at Pfizer, who makes Ibrance? I would suggest starting there. You might also want to look into joining a MBC support group. Blessings and prayers, Sue

7 months agoHi @Melissa here are two additional resources that might be helpful: Specifically for Ibrance, Pfizer has this website with more information about how and where to apply for financial support: https://www.ibrance.com/financial-support-resources We also have a blog post that has links to several patient assistance programs: https://outcomes4me.com/article/how-to-apply-for-co-pay-assistance-for-cancer-treatment/ Thanks @Sue and @Susan for sharing your suggestions too!

7 months agoTry to get on the Ibrance study. There is one at many of the hospitals. I have been on one for over 4 years. The study supplies the medication. My study is called the Patina Study. My prayers go out to you.

7 months agoMelissa, try visiting the manufacturers website to see if they still offer enrollment in their patient program. Also Ibrance Rx gets filled by a specialty pharmacy. Regardless of the manufacturer it always pays to ask if they know of patient programs available to help keep your copayment to $0. (They usually do but only if asked.)

7 months agoI took Ibrance for over 3 years; I was able to get financing through Pfizer, I think my oncologist arranged for it. I had to fill out financial forms to submit. It was sent to me monthly.
