2 years agoHas anyone had a fes pet scan ? I was wondering if you can have it after you have been in treatment. I am stage 4 er+ lobular breast cancer and have lung nodules that can't be biopsed would have to be wedge resection . I thought if fes pet showed positive for estrogen it would eliminate the need for resection ,but I'm on blockers. They do have a suv of 9.2 on regular pet.

FES PET scans can be a valuable tool for evaluating estrogen receptor status in metastatic breast cancer, though the timing with hormone therapy treatments can affect the results. This is definitely a great question to discuss thoroughly with your oncology team, as they can best advise whether pausing treatment temporarily before the scan would be appropriate for your specific situation and help weigh the benefits against other diagnostic options.
