How do you find courage to accept your stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis?

Hi everyone- I have been following for over a year but maybe afraid to post because it is a commitment to say out loud that you have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Scary as sh#%# but the longer that you live with it, the more you can absorb the unknown and try to be thankful for every day. I read all the stories and part of me wonders if the survivor stats are far behind because I see so many here and on other blogs that are thriving with positivity through the treatments and living longer than they thought we could. Stay strong and thank you all for sharing.

Finding courage often comes gradually, and taking that first step to share here shows incredible strength. Many in this community have found that connecting with others who truly understand this journey can provide both comfort and hope, while seeing fellow members living full lives despite their diagnosis can offer a different perspective on what's possible. The support and shared experiences found here can be a valuable source of encouragement as each day unfolds.

Denise, welcome to our community. MBC is very scary. I've been on this journey since 2016. I've just finished my first week of Truqap with fluvestrant. I have PTEN mutation and AKT genome mutation. My life has been different, but rewarding.

Yes welcome! I am taking Kisquali. low dose Truqap and fluvestrant. I am confused about my many mutations. My tumor burden is 10.12. From my guardian 360 blood test but I don’t know what that means

I ask my doctor enough questions sometimes I feel awkward.

Jane, ask as many questions as you need to understand. Take notes so you remember the doctor's answers. Ask AI (I like Grok) to explain it in layman's terms. The more you know about your disease, the better you understand. This app has the NCCN guidelines recommended for your specific BC. Praying for you.
