Hi. I’ve had MBC since December 2023. Mets to pleural space. Started on Kisqali / Anatole and was NED for 3 pet scans. The last one showed regression. Nodules came back and pleural effusion again. Started everolimus and exemestane a few weeks ago. Hoping I get more than just one year this time. I currently have a cough and pleural effusion but am hoping the meds resolve it so I don’t have to get another thoracentesis. I’m 48. First diagnoses stage 1 at 42.

Thank you for sharing your journey with such openness and courage. Navigating treatment changes after initial success can bring so many emotions, and it's completely understandable to hope for better results with your new regimen. Many in this community have found strength in connecting with others who truly understand the unique challenges of living with metastatic breast cancer, and your experience may help others facing similar situations.

Hoping the meds are working for you and my prays are with you! It’s a constant battle and limbo waiting for test results

Hey I got pleural effusion in April, been on taxol ever since and it’s awful! I got the talc in my right pleural space and I’ve been doing great. Thank you for saying what you’re on. My doc (whom I’m firing) said there isn’t any other options except infusions til I die. I’m 38. Screw her. I’m going to ask about these with my next oncologist.

I actually changed meds again after getting a biopsy. I had some mutations common when failing first round of endocrine therapy called PIK3CA and ESR1 so I’m now on truqap and Fulvestrant and doing really well. Just had a great pet scan. Everything resolved again 🥳🥳 hopefully, I get a long time on this line.
