7 months agoI am stage 4 mbc and had my ct scan and bone scan yesterday and this was in the results. I guess it is now in my spine. New focal sclerotic lesion at L5 vertebral body, concerning for metastatic disease.

Receiving scan results showing new areas of concern can feel overwhelming, and it's completely understandable to have many questions and emotions right now. Many others in this community have walked similar paths with spinal involvement and can offer valuable insights about their experiences with treatment options and managing day-to-day life. Consider reaching out to your oncology team to discuss next steps and what this finding means for your treatment plan moving forward.

7 months agoHi Nancy. I’m 77, stage 4 MBC for 5 months now. Cancer is producing cells in the pleural space around my lung and a bit in my spine. I’m taking an AI and also Kisqali. I’m surprised how well I feel. I’m driving out shopping, walking 7,000 steps a day and enjoying my family and friends. I do have a pool workout that starts this summer. I actually don’t look “sick” at all. Don’t quit, the more you can do the better you will feel.

7 months agoI was diagnosed 4-1-25 with a reoccurrence of metastasized breast cancer that hollowed out my femur. I needed a surgery to get a rod put by my femur from the knee to my hip. I can walk ok, but i still have a lot of pain. I just spoke to my oncologist and i feel more hopeful that i can live for some time., but who knows how long. I hope you are all finding peace with the situation. I still cry very day, but it gets better. I’m on kisqali, and letrosole. You are all very brave and inspiring. Blessings

7 months agoI also have lesions in my spine L 3 4 and 5. Using medical marijuana called Rick Simpson oil eases my pain and allows me to sleep at night. Recently I started water resistance in a warm pool at the fitness center. It takes time to adjust to a new diagnosis. Give yourself grace as you go through this journey

7 months agoI just joined this group. Reading about everyone’s situation helps me realize I’m not alone. I live alone and my two children are having difficulty dealing with my diagnosis as I look fine and am still up and about. Having someone understand what I’m going through helps. So thank you all for being here and sharing your thoughts and prayers and encouragement. ❤️

7 months agoI've been on this journey for 9 + years, originally all bones except below my elbows and knees and skull. The skull came at 2 years in. The tiredness I thought was depression, so my psychologist started me on Cymbalta. I take 90mg every morning. I have almost NO bone pain. Ask about taking it, if you are in bone pain, I believe it is approved for bone pain,

6 months agoHi Nancy I was on Ibrance 100mg & Faslodex injections for a little over 2 yrs. My recent PET Scan came back with a spot also at L5. My oncologist just changed me to Kisquali (which I’ve heard has horrible side effects) and Exemestane. Also 2 treatments of radiation in that spot.

6 months agoDon’t worry Vicki I’m on the highest dose of Kisquali and I got used to it in a couple of weeks. Just some diarrhea. In the beginning. But I am ok with it now.

5 months agoHi Nancy. I also have met in my spine unfortunately my T 3 now has a compression fracture caused by the cancer. I just wanted you to be aware that this can happen due to the bone being weakened. I also take calcium vit D and receive IV zometa to increase bone strength. Wishing you all the best. WE ARE STRONGER THAN THE CANCER.🙂
