a year agoHi ladies recently diagnosed at 37 with stage 4 Mets in both breast, rt lymph nodes, lungs, sternum, spine pelvis, femur. Was told can’t do chemo, surgery or any radiation! All that can be done is hormone blockers- can anyone tell me did they have trouble getting the kisqali as I’m seem to be put through the wringer trying to get assistance to pay for it!!

Navigating medication access can be incredibly frustrating, especially when dealing with insurance approvals and assistance programs for medications like Kisqali. Many community members have shared similar experiences with the approval process, and connecting with patient assistance programs, social workers at your treatment center, or your oncology team's financial counselors can often help streamline the process and identify additional resources available to you.

7 months agoAlexandria, I'm so sorry to hear this. Per the NCCN, hormone therapy is usually the first line of treatment if your cancer is HR+. If you fill out your diagnosis on this app, it will give you all recommended treatments. I believe Kisqali is now the first recommended hormone therapy along with letrolzole, bone strengthen therapy plus calcium and vitamin D3. Try the Novartis website for payment assistance. I've been on hormone therapy for 8+ years. I have had good results so far. I started on Ibrance and letrolzole plus Xgeva, Vit D, calcium. Now, I'm on Kisqali and exemestane plus Xgeva, Vit D and calcium. I'm experiencing diarrhea (side effect) so my Dr is reducing the strength from 600 mg to 400 mg. I've had disease progression twice. Once to my skull and then to my spine. Both times I had radiation to kill those lesions. I have extensive bone metastasis. It's too many to count. It is not below my elbows or knees. I have only one lesion that is currently lighting up in scans. I'll have that one radiated if the uptake is 3. I believe you will do very well on hormone therapy. I know several women that had lesions in their organs that don't have them anymore due to the hormone therapy. Focus on a positive mindset and you will live very well. Sending you prayers, too. I care, Ginny

7 months agoBeen on Verzenio, Zometa infusions, and estrogen killer...anastozole for 1 1/2 years fir stage 4...now in remission. Thus hormone therapy works. Had lesions in liver, lungs, lymph nodes, bones, and breast. Now most are gone or diminished. Some side effects but not bad.

7 months agoBonnie T. Been praying and had the anointing of the sick 3 times so far. My oncologist was hesitant on putting me on oral chemo and more hesitant on chemo by infusion with the risks of it could mess with my heart and still recovering from 3 strokes this past May. You are in my thoughts and prayers

We all have to do whatever it takes to somehow sustain a meaningful quality of life while battling this awful disease. 7 months agoGlad you got the approval! I had to fight for that as well for my meds, it can be so stressful and sometimes it seems like the people you talk to are clueless about what their company even offers. So inspiring to hear everyone’s stories! I have MBC w/brain, lymph node, liver, lung, adrenal and extensive bone involvement. It’s nice to know others have survived years with similar issues. Blessings to all, you are in my thoughts and prayers <3

I am currently undergoing Canada's and it's working well. My tumors have changed their markers and they're slowly disappearing. I am undergoing them thru AI and IV in the hospitals.

7 months agoHi Virginia, I'm on a lot of Chemo meds. Too much to name. But was in the hospital for the last 2 weeks and underwent everything. From chemo, radiation, immunotherapy, surgeries. And post op. Was unable to walk for 4 days. They were brutal. Painful 😔. Still Painful. I'm having a hard time taking a shower due to the redness and tenderness of my butt. Any suggestions?
