Hello everyone, I have metastatic breast cancer. I first found out I had breast cancer in 2018 32 years old. It came back in my lungs found out Dec 2023. I did 6 rounds of chemo, now I just found out today it has spread to my brain. I am completely broken. Not sure what to do. I hurt mostly for my children. I just want to be able to be here with and for them. Has anyone else experienced this? Looking for hope šŸ™šŸ½

This news must feel overwhelming, and it's completely understandable to feel broken right now. Many people in this community have walked similar paths with brain metastases and have found treatments and moments of joy along the way. The love and determination to be there for children often becomes a powerful source of strength, and there are various treatment options available for brain metastases that oncologists can discuss with patients.

Latoria, there are treatments for metastasties to the brain and surgeries with lasers. I've known a woman who had them. With the right treatments I believe you will do well. Praying for you šŸ™ Ginny

I have metastatic BC, multiple organs and bone, including brain. Had 1 treatment high dose radiation for brain tumor a little over 1 year ago, so far doing good (no new tumors and radiation seems to have taken care of first one) cancer antigen is lowest it has been since starting treatment, I am now on my second treatment, enhertu only worked about 6 months, but this seems to be doing a better job for me. As my oncologist says - this is a marathon, not a sprint. There are so many treatments out there. So far I feel better than I did on the chemo I was on when I first had BC (2015). It is hard, but you just do what you have to do. I am worried about my kids as well, probably older than yours (22 and 24), and I have seen how this hurts them, but also makes them stronger and closer than they were before. Hang in there, it is hard, but you can do it

You also might want to listen to the podcast from Heather Jose called I’m Still Here. She was diagnosed in 1998 at age 26. Another site is Belong.
