I have a lot of nausea and diarrhea lately with Truqaq. I text it in combination with Kisquali and fluvestrant shots which are monthly. Wondering if I should take anti diarrhea medicine before my next dose?

The side effects you're experiencing with your treatment combination can be really challenging to manage. It's important to discuss anti-diarrhea medication with your oncology team before your next dose, as they can provide guidance on the best timing and type of medication that won't interfere with your current treatment plan. Many patients in this community have found that their medical teams have helpful strategies for managing these specific side effects, so reaching out to them is definitely the right approach.

I have been on Truqap for over a year. My oncologist calls me in anti nausea meds and meds for diarrhea on the bad days. The worst side effect I have is increase in glucose. I manage type 2 induced diabetes by my meals.

I too am taking Truqap with monthly Fluvestrant shots. My diarrhea is under control since my oncologist suggested I take anti-diarrhea meds preventatively. I take them twice a day, every day. As Cathy mentioned, high glucose has been an issue for me as well. Stay well & hopeful!

Diarrhea, no nausea. The diarrhea was so bad that they reduced my dosage in the morning.

I have been on Truqap since January 2026. My bone lesions showed mild growth last pet scan but no new bone lesions and no spread to other organs. Just had a blood draw to check for mutations and waiting on results.

Definately ask about a anti-diarrhea medication. I took Venzenio for about 5 weeks and had approximately 4 stools a day, water and watery fecal matter. I couldn’t leave the house. Imodium worked for me. It was the only OTC that was suggested by the drug company and the doc. It wasn’t a miracle drug but it did slow things a bit. Ask your navigation nurse or yr doc about a remedy. Quality of life is important..

Drink, Drink,Drink-electrolytes are in just about every sport drink. I was drinking about 4, 18 oz bottles a day. Jello, puddings, ice cream, fruit etc. all count as liquid. You find something you like and drink away. It’s hard to drink like you are running a marathon but keep your eye on your goal. Stay hydrated!

Are you worried about sugar in these drinks and jellos?

Thank you again Barbara. I am afraid to complain a lot because I am afraid that a reduced dose might not be effective my cancer was grade 3
