7 months agoHi all. I have mets to multiple bone areas and pleura. And skull (parietal calvarium). Have been on Kisqali and Letrozole for 5 months with CT showing some reduction in pleural mets and stability of spinal lesions. I have a brain MRI next wk and am quite anxious. Has anyone had experience with calvaruium mets getting into actual brain matter? Earlier this year, when I found out about skull mets, my doctor didn't want to do radiation and suggested another MRI in a few months, which is next wk. Thanks.

Waiting for test results can bring so much anxiety, especially when dealing with metastatic disease. While skull metastases don't always spread to brain tissue, it's completely natural to have concerns about this possibility. Many community members have shared similar worries about bone metastases near the skull, and connecting with others who understand this specific fear can provide valuable support and perspective during this challenging time.

6 months agoI did have skull mets. I did radiation to my whole skull. They haven't come back that I know of. They didn't break through to the brain. Lost my hair but some has come back.

6 months agoYes I had one treatment of radiation to the brain. I had several spots on the bone itself on the skull, but was told that as long as it’s on the bone, it does not penetrate into the brain so so far the brain is good after the one radiation treatment

6 months agoHello, this is my second breast cancer diagnosis since my mastectomy and lumpectomy 07/13/2021. Currently metastatic breast cancer will known elisions to spine, femur, spleen, liver, old mastectomy site and lymph. New oncologist is going to start me on Letrozole. I am worried about serious side effects such as DVTs and osteoporosis. Can anyone share their experience with me regarding this medication? Thank you!

6 months agoHi Lora. I have been on Letrozole since November 2024 and have been taking calcium and vit D. Also on Zometa infusion for bone strengthening and on targeted therapy ( Kisqale)...maybe you can ask about these other treatments too to see if they apply. With Letrozole I have a lot of hot flashes even though I was on Tamoxifen b4 metastatic diagnosis. I also do a cancer exercise program and try to be active to minimize DVT.

6 months agoHi Lora! I’ve been on Kisqali and Letrozole since Aug ‘23, and so far I haven’t experienced any side effects, or at least nothing that’s caused me concern.
