Hey everyone! Just sharing my melanoma journey to see if anyone’s had a similar experience. I was diagnosed with acral melanoma in October 2023 on my heel and went through multiple surgeries, including a skin graft and lymph node removal. Everything came back negative at that time. In November 2024, I had a recurrence near the original skin graft site and had another surgery with lymph node removal, and again, everything was negative. Now in December 2025, I’ve had another recurrence. This time it involves three lymph nodes in my leg and one in my abdomen, and the doctors have classified it as stage 3 melanoma. I’m currently undergoing immunotherapy, with my second treatment on the 16th, and I have another surgery planned for those lymph nodes. I’d really appreciate connecting with anyone who’s been through something similar or has any advice. Thanks so much!

Multiple recurrences can feel overwhelming, and connecting with others who have walked similar paths often provides comfort and valuable insights. Many community members have faced recurring melanoma and the challenges that come with ongoing treatments and surgeries. Your experience with acral melanoma, the progression you've described, and your current immunotherapy journey may resonate with others here who can offer support and share their own experiences. Consider sharing more about what specific aspects of this journey you'd most like to hear about from others - whether it's managing treatment side effects, coping strategies, or navigating the emotional aspects of recurrent cancer.

I had a melanoma on my foot which was surgically removed along with my sentinel lymph node. I was on immunotherapy with great response, which was stopped after 22 treatments. Within 6 months my melanoma returned and metastasis to lungs and brain. S/p gamma knife to brain neoplasms with an excellent response. I had 5 radiation treatments to my groin lymph nodes which were lighting up on Pet and causing severe lymph edema. Placed on Braftovi and Mektovi for a braf mutation and I am now a 5 year survivor. I’m considering TIL therapy.

I have metastatic melanoma. Started with vulvar and had surgery. It spread to my lymph nodes on right side and grew to 3cm. Also a mass on the left pelvic wall. Stage 3 per oncologist. I've had 6 rounds of keytruda. It is srinking. Now we are probably going to do radiation and continue keytruda. They don't want to do any more surgery.
