Hi Shelly. I'm sorry you're going through this. In Feb 2026 I was diagnosed with stage 0 IDC in my right breast. I had the surgery and radiation you're talking about. The surgery was very minor and recovery was easy for me. I only had to do 10 radiation treatments. 5 over the entire breast and lymph area and the 5 focused on the tumor area. I didn't experience any problems and only annoying itching after the 5 focused treatments similar to a moderate sunburn. I now have a 2" long scar that will likely fade over time. All said it was a very easy process with the worst part being the waiting and having to go to radiation every day for 10 days. Good luck in your treatment.

Hi Shelly ! I'm sorry you're going through this! I was diagnosed with Stage 0, Grade 3 DCIS in May of this year. I had two lumpectomies, and the cancer remained. My third surgery was a bilateral mastectomy. It's harder to recover from this surgery, but maybe it's because I had three surgeries in less than 7 weeks. I don't regret my decision. All the cancer is gone now! I wish I took more time to research and ask questions. The surgeon was anxious to remove the cancer so it would not spread, and so was I. I hope by now all your cancer has been removed!
